Duplin County Jail Roster

The county page says the tool provides community access to selected offender information consistent with the spirit and intent of the North Carolina Public Records Act. It also gives three limits that should be read before relying on a result: jail information can change quickly, some offenders may be excluded at law-enforcement discretion, and released-inmate searches are limited to the previous 24-hour time frame.

The roster covers the Duplin County Detention Center. It is the public local custody channel for people booked through the sheriff's detention workflow, including arrests by the sheriff's office, municipal police departments, Highway Patrol, SBI, and other listed agencies. When a current custody check is urgent, call the Duplin County Detention Center at 910-296-2324. Online records are useful, but release, transfer, bond posting, and court orders can change the jail status faster than a visitor expects.

Why Inmates May Not Appear

A missing Duplin County jail roster result can have several explanations. The person may not have been booked yet, may have bonded out, may be outside the 24-hour released-inmate window, may be held by another county, may have moved to state prison, may be in federal or immigration custody, or may be excluded from the public website at agency discretion. The county's own warning says selected offender information is provided and may change quickly.

For older or missing booking records, use the county public-records channel at publicrecordsrequest@duplinnc.gov. Include full name, date of birth if known, booking date, arresting agency if known, BookingID if known, and the exact record being requested.

The county's Daily Report is a separate Citizen Connect tool that can help when the user is trying to connect a recent arrest, booking, incident, or most-wanted notice to a jail record. It has tabs for All, Incidents, Arrests, Bookings, Most Wanted, and Missing Persons. The Daily Report also warns that incident and accident reports may not be available for up to 72 hours, so it should not be treated as a real-time jail roster.

The Citizen Connect Daily Report is useful for recent Duplin County arrest context when the current roster is unclear.

Daily Report entries still need to be checked against the current-confinement roster and the court record before drawing conclusions about custody status.

County Roster vs NCDAC

After Finding an Inmate

Duplin County publishes separate detention pages for visitation, phone service, mail, medical care, and trust funds. HomeWAV internet and app visitation are the primary visit channel. On-site visits are allowed only under special circumstances with prior approval from the Chief Jail Administrator, are limited to 30 minutes, and are scheduled by calling 910-296-2324 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The county page has an inconsistent weekly-visit phrase, so callers should verify the current limit.
