Lookup Duplin County Inmate Records

Duplin County inmate records are searched first through the county jail roster for people held in local custody. A Duplin County jail roster search can show current confinements, recent admits, arresting agency, booking date, charges, bond fields, and selected booking-photo information. The local roster is not a state prison locator, a federal inmate database, or a full court record. When a person has moved out of the county jail system, North Carolina state, federal, immigration, court, or public-records channels may be needed to complete the custody search.

Duplin County Jail Roster

The official route for Duplin County inmate records starts with the county's Inmate Search warning page and then continues to Citizen Connect Inmate Confinements. The county page says the tool provides community access to selected offender information consistent with the spirit and intent of the North Carolina Public Records Act. It also gives three limits that should be read before relying on a result: jail information can change quickly, some offenders may be excluded at law-enforcement discretion, and released-inmate searches are limited to the previous 24-hour time frame.

The roster covers the Duplin County Detention Center. It is the public local custody channel for people booked through the sheriff's detention workflow, including arrests by the sheriff's office, municipal police departments, Highway Patrol, SBI, and other listed agencies. It does not replace the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction locator for state prisoners or the BOP and ICE locators for federal or immigration custody.

Search Duplin County Inmates

The Citizen Connect roster is dynamic rather than a downloadable list. It can load all current confinements, show admits in the last 24 hours or 7 days, search admits by a custom date range, search by charge text, and filter by arresting agency. The cleanest first search is usually a last name or partial last name after current confinements load.

  1. Open the Duplin County inmate-search page and continue from the warning screen to Citizen Connect.
  2. Select Current Confinements when the person may still be in the Duplin County Detention Center.
  3. Use the roster's search term or the Admits by Date Range tab when a recent booking is not easy to find by name.
  4. Try Charges for an offense category, or Arresting Agency when the arrest came from Wallace, Warsaw, Beulaville, Kenansville, Rose Hill, Magnolia, Faison, Highway Patrol, SBI, or another agency.
  5. Open View Full Details to see the booking-detail card and BookingID in the URL.

When a current custody check is urgent, call the Duplin County Detention Center at 910-296-2324. Online records are useful, but release, transfer, bond posting, and court orders can change the jail status faster than a visitor expects.

Duplin County Search Fields

The inspected Citizen Connect interface gives several search controls. They matter because Duplin County arrests may be made by the sheriff's office, a town police department, a state agency, or another county agency, yet still appear in the same county detention roster after booking.

Because the roster loads through the vendor system, a blank screen or failed search should be followed by a phone check rather than treated as a final answer.

Duplin Inmate Profile Details

A Duplin County inmate profile is a booking snapshot. It can help identify the right person, read the arresting agency, check bond entries, and see the current charge labels on the booking card. It does not show every internal jail field, and it does not prove guilt. Court outcomes must be checked through the Judicial Branch.

FieldWhat It Shows
NameFull name in the card header.
MugshotImage box that may show a booking photo or NoMugshot fallback.
DemographicsAge, race abbreviation, sex abbreviation, and date of birth.
BookedBooking date entered in the jail system.
Arresting AgencyAgency name and ORI-style code.
Arrest Date/TimeDate and time tied to the arrest entry.
Bond TotalTotal bond amount when one is listed.
ChargesCharge count and charge names, sometimes with per-charge bond.
BookingIDSystem identifier in the detail-page URL.

Notably absent from the inspected public cards were housing pod, cell, court date, projected release date, full address, medical details, victim information, narrative probable cause, and all internal classification notes.

Why Inmates May Not Appear

A missing Duplin County jail roster result can have several explanations. The person may not have been booked yet, may have bonded out, may be outside the 24-hour released-inmate window, may be held by another county, may have moved to state prison, may be in federal or immigration custody, or may be excluded from the public website at agency discretion. The county's own warning says selected offender information is provided and may change quickly.

Important: A search result is a public custody clue, not a complete criminal-history report. Verify urgent custody status with the Detention Center.

For older or missing booking records, use the county public-records channel at publicrecordsrequest@duplinnc.gov. Include full name, date of birth if known, booking date, arresting agency if known, BookingID if known, and the exact record being requested.

The county's Daily Report is a separate Citizen Connect tool that can help when the user is trying to connect a recent arrest, booking, incident, or most-wanted notice to a jail record. It has tabs for All, Incidents, Arrests, Bookings, Most Wanted, and Missing Persons. The Daily Report also warns that incident and accident reports may not be available for up to 72 hours, so it should not be treated as a real-time jail roster.

The Citizen Connect Daily Report is useful for recent Duplin County arrest context when the current roster is unclear.

Daily Report entries still need to be checked against the current-confinement roster and the court record before drawing conclusions about custody status.

County Roster vs NCDAC

Duplin County inmate records split by custody system. The county roster is for people held at the Duplin County Detention Center. The NCDAC offender-information page states that the state locator covers state prison offenders, probationers, and parolees, and that it does not include county jail information. That is the most common search mistake in Duplin County custody questions.

LookupBest ForDuplin Limit
Citizen ConnectCurrent Duplin County Detention Center custody and recent admitsMay exclude some offenders and has limited released-inmate searching
NCDAC Offender SearchState prison, probation, parole, and state history back to 1972Does not include county jail inmates
VINELink / NC SAVANCustody status notifications for county and state systemsNot a full case-file search
BOP LocatorFederal inmates after BOP custodyNot for local jail bookings or federal pretrial gaps
ICE ODLSImmigration detainee locationNot a local criminal roster

NCDAC also identifies NC SAVAN/VINELink as a notification service that covers county jail inmates, state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders. VINELink is not a replacement for the Duplin County roster or the clerk's case file, but it can be useful when the goal is a custody-status alert rather than a one-time record search.

Duplin County Jail Contact

The detention center phone line is the key fallback for time-sensitive Duplin County inmate records. The sheriff site lists the Detention Center at 910-296-2324, the Main Office at 910-296-2150, and After Hours at 910-296-1911. The sheriff contact page lists office hours as Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. For court dates, charges filed after booking, and case documents, the Judicial Branch and Clerk of Superior Court are the better channels.

After Finding an Inmate

Duplin County publishes separate detention pages for visitation, phone service, mail, medical care, and trust funds. HomeWAV internet and app visitation are the primary visit channel. On-site visits are allowed only under special circumstances with prior approval from the Chief Jail Administrator, are limited to 30 minutes, and are scheduled by calling 910-296-2324 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The county page has an inconsistent weekly-visit phrase, so callers should verify the current limit.
